Manchester City winger Lauren Hemp has been named PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year for the fourth time, having first collected the prestigious accolade in 2018.

It is the fourth time in the last five seasons that Hemp, still only 21, has been crowned young player of the year by her fellow players.

The rising England superstar scored 10 WSL goals as City finished third and qualified for the Champions League ahead of local rivals Manchester United.

Hemp carried an injury-stricken City side during the early months of the season and continued to maintain her form for an electrifying finish to the campaign that saw Gareth Taylor’s side win their final nine WSL games to surge into the top three.

Hemp is now also expected to shine for England on the international stage at Euro 2022 on home soil this summer.
