Takumi Minamino is ‘closing in’ on a Liverpool exit this summer, with four Premier League clubs and Monaco battling for his signature.

Minamino has struggled to make a consistent impact since arriving at Anfield in January 2020.

However, after spending the second half of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Southampton, the Japan international did pop up with some important goals for the Reds last season. In the end he managed 10 strikes in just 24 games – enough to make him Liverpool’s fifth top scorer in all competitions.

Despite this, the chances of him increasing his playing time next term is slim with competition for places so fierce at Anfield.

As a result, both club and player are ready to part ways this summer, according to This Is Anfield. Their report states that the player’s agent Yusuke Akiyama is already in Europe trying to find his client a new club, with Liverpool apparently willing to let him depart for around £17m.
