TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – The Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS) presented eight factual findings based on the results of an investigation conducted into the murder and mutilation of four residents in Mimika Regency, Papua.

The Deputy Coordinator of KontraS, Rivanlee Anandar, explained that the investigation was based on the statements of a number of parties.

Among them were the families of the victims and confirmed directly to the Mimika Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Mimika Subdenpom XVII/C Investigators, and the Mimika Hospital.

There were at least eight factual findings that KontraS obtained from the investigation.

Firstthe allegation that the four victims were involved in the separatist movement was not proven.

This, said Rivanlee, contradicts the family’s testimony which is accompanied by supporting evidence.

AL for example, he continued, was a church administrator who was also appointed as the church building committee.

Meanwhile, the IN victim is an active official from the village head of Kampung Yunat as well as a church administrator in Kenyam, Nduga.

In addition, he said, foreign victims who carry out their daily activities as boat drivers stand by waiting for shuttle orders from Nduga-Jita-Timika.
