For this reason, he asked Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to give permission to Lukas Enembe to go abroad for treatment.
“With the poor condition, with the Governor’s health, on behalf of the Governor’s legal team, I ask President Jokowi to give him permission to go abroad for treatment in order to save the life and soul of the Governor,” said Stefanus at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Friday (23/23). 9/2022).
“Our legal team views that if these steps are not taken by the state, it will create an atmosphere in Papua that is not harmonious,” he continued.
On the other hand, Stefanus also ensured that his client would not come to fulfill the summons for an examination by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as scheduled for next week.
“Seeing the condition of his development earlier, the personal doctor has also conveyed directly to the Director of Investigation that it is not possible for you to attend on Monday, so we ask the Governor to remain cooperative,” he said.
“That’s why we came early to convey this because the doctor’s health development, according to the doctor, has declined somewhat,” he added.
Previously, the KPK confirmed that it had named Papuan Governor Lukas Enembe as a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification case.
He became a suspect based on complaints from the public.
The anti-corruption agency emphasized that the determination of the suspect was purely law enforcement.
Where, the KPK has pocketed sufficient evidence to ensnare the Democrat Party politician as a suspect.
In addition, the KPK has also prevented Lukas from traveling abroad through the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights at the request of the KPK.
He was prevented from going abroad for the next six months starting from September 7, 2022 to March 7, 2023.
The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has also blocked accounts belonging to Lukas Enembe and related parties.
The blocking was carried out because the PPATK found that there were odd or suspicious financial transactions up to billions of rupiah.
Summoned September 26, 2022
The Corruption Eradication Commission itself has sent a summons for an examination to the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe.
“Yes, the information we have obtained is true, the summons as a suspect has been sent by the KPK investigators team,” said Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri in a written statement, Thursday (22/9/2022).
Ali said that Lukas Enembe would be summoned to Jakarta to be questioned at the KPK’s Red and White Building.
“The examination is scheduled for Monday, September 26, 2022 at the KPK’s Red and White Building,” he said.
The spokesman for the prosecution explained that Enembe’s summons next week was the second summons.
The first summons, Monday (12/9/2022), Lukas Enembe was absent from the summons of the investigation team. He did not come to the Mako Brimob Polda Papua.
“This is the second summons, where previously the person concerned was called as a witness to be present on September 12, 2022, but confirmed that he could not attend,” Ali explained.
Regarding this second summons, the KPK gave an ultimatum to Lukas Enembe to be cooperative.
