According to BMKGas many as 12 water areas in Indonesia have the potential for waves as high as 4 meters.
To quote maritime.bmkg.go.idthe wind pattern in the northern part of Indonesia predominantly moves from the Northwest – Northeast with wind speeds ranging from 5 – 30 knots.
Meanwhile, in the southern part of Indonesia, the dominant movement is from the Southeast – Southwest with wind speeds ranging from 5 – 20 knots.
The highest wind speed was observed in the Malacca Strait, waters east of Aceh to North Sumatra, and the North Natuna Sea.
