With this result, Indonesia is certain to be absent from the final Indian Open 2023 because previously Anthony Sinisuka Ginting was defeated by the representative of Thailand, Kunlavut Vitidsarn 27-25, 21-15.

For Axelsen, this is his second final in 2023.

Course of the Match

Jojo started the first set beautifully from world number one badminton player, Viktor Axelsen.

He stopped Axelsen’s attempt to take the lead.

But after that, Axelsen managed to win four consecutive points from Jojo to make things 5-1.

Axelsen’s efforts to get away were stopped when his forhand caught in the net and added to Jojo’s advantage.

Jojo played more patiently in dealing with Axelsen’s resistance with a tempo that was not too fast and played lop.

However, a less-than-perfect return from Jojo increased Axelsen’s lead to 7-2.

Axelsen did not let Jojo gain point after point even though he had changed serves.

Until the first interval, Jojo only got 4 points from moving serve, 11-4. Two of these came from Axelsen’s errors in returning cocks.
