Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali said that Indonesia is ready to hold international sports events in Indonesia starting from the U20 World Cup, ANOC World Beach Games, FIBA ​​World Cup 2023, to PON 2024.

“Firstly regarding the implementation of the FIFA U20 World Cup, we have reported that everything is in a ready condition. Then the second FIBA ​​World Cup in 2023 as well. Then there is the ANOC World Beach Games 2023, and PON in Aceh and North Sumatra in 2024,” Zainudin said at the conference press after a limited cabinet meeting with the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Zainudin stated that all related parties involved had carried out their respective duties properly.

Besides that, only a few technical details are still under negotiation such as the opening and closing ceremonies of the U20 World Cup.

“Overall it is in a ready condition, there are only a few things that need our attention.” he said.

“For example, for the FIFA U20 World Cup, which previously had no events opening and closingbut now FIFA has agreed and needs to get approval from the President,” continued Zainudin.
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has carried out the task of renovating stadiums for FIFA, namely Gelora Bung Karno Jakarta Stadium, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium Bandung, Manahan Solo Stadium, Gelora Bung Tomo Surabaya, Palembang Jakabaring Stadium, and Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium. Bali.

In preparation for holding the 2023 Basketball World Cup, the PUPR Ministry is also in the final stages of finalizing the GBK Indoor Multifunction Stadium which will be used for world basketball matches.

The entire work on the football stadium and sports arena carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is in accordance with FIFA and FIBA ​​standards and requirements.

For PON 2024, the PON logo and mascot will soon be launched in Aceh on January 28 2023 and in North Sumatra on January 29.

The Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Raja Sapta Oktohari, on the same occasion said that the ANOC World Beach Game 2023 would be held from 5 August to 12 August followed by the ANOC General Assembly on 13 August to 15 August.

The international sports event will be attended by 130 countries and the ANOC General Assembly will be attended by 205 countries.
