This is contrary to Law Number 39 of 1999 and the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment through Law Number 5 of 1998.

Therefore, on this matter and also in order to create a conducive situation for the promotion, protection and upholding of human rights and to ensure that similar incidents do not recur, Komnas HAM make recommendations to DIY Police.

The recommendation contains encouragement for the Yogyakarta Regional Police to immediately follow up and complete the investigation into allegations of violence and torture committed by the police personnel who arrested Andi and his friends in the context of providing justice to the complainants and victims.
